Hi, I’m Gary, a Rhodesophile who’s been visiting this magical Greek island for over 30 years..
My love affair with Rhodes began back in 1990 when I first visited on holiday. I’ll never forget rounding the bend on the road above Lindos and getting my first glimpse of the village’s whitewashed houses cascading down to the sea, topped with the ancient Acropolis. It was breathtaking!
I was back just a month later, looking for a job to support my dream of spending entire summers on the island. Those early ’90s summers were magical – filled with new experiences, endless sunshine, and lifelong friendships.
Since then, I’ve returned to Rhodes nearly every year – several times some years. As my three kids have grown up, I’ve made sure to share this special place with them. We’ve created many happy family memories there over the years!
I’ve been lucky enough to make many friends on Rhodes – both Greek and expats. Their tips and insights have proven invaluable.
After 30+ years of visits, I know and love this island inside out. I want to help others fall for Rhodes as hard as I did by sharing insider knowledge and experiences. My goal is to inspire your own adventures there – whether that’s lazy beach days, exploring ancient sites, tasting wine in the valleys, or wandering round the medieval Old Town.
